Orsanmichele Florence : Lorenzo Ghiberti

Two sculptures by Lorenzo Ghiberti adorn the façade of the Orsanmichele church.

The first is a bronze statue of Saint Stephen, dating from 1429, in a tabernacle by Andrea Pisano (1340), both of which were made for the guild of wool makers.

The second depicts Saint John the Baptist, a bronze statue dating from 1416. The tabernacle is by Albizzo di Piero (1414), made for the Calimala clothmakers' guild.
