Brunelleschi and Pietro Giovanni Tedesco at Orsanmichele in Florence

Filippo Brunelleschi, the architect of the dome of the Duomo, the cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore in Florence, created a marble sculpture of St Peter in the tabernacle of the butchers' guild in the 15th century.

Pietro Giovanni Tedesco, meanwhile, created a marble statue in 1399 known as the Madonna Rosa, the pink Madonna.

The tabernacle is by Jacopo di Piero Guidi and Simone Talenti, and was made for the guild of doctors and spices, both of which were closely linked at the time, the ancestors of pharmacists.
